EAFT has built Remote Device Management solution to manage Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) equipments like ADSL, STB and other embedded devices like tablets. RDM uses the industry standard TR-069 Protocol for managing the devices remotely. The major components of RDM are the Auto Configuration Server (ACS) and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). TR-069 is the Broadband Forum’s CPE WAN management protocol, which has become the de-facto standard for remote CPE management. The following diagram represents the remote device management architecture.

EAFT have developed a complete remote device management solution for multiple platforms. In addition, EAFT has customized the Auto Configuration Server to support their Android based tablets. The TR-069 Agent residing in CPE (Android devices) provides standardized remote device management, to handle the requests from ACS and process them accordingly.

The TR-069 Agent allows an ACS to provision CPE or collection of CPEs. The provisioning mechanism includes specific provisioning parameters and a general mechanism for adding vendor specific provisioning capabilities as needed. The device should have proper network connection to interact with ACS. The TR-069 Agent uses HTTP as the transport for exchanging the data between ACS and CPEs. The devices which are registered with ACS only can communicate with ACS and proceed further. The unauthorized devices cannot communicate with server. All the commands/actions has been created in SOAP message format to share between the Server and devices over HTTP.
